Integrating Art & Technology

As an Intermedia artist the history of my sculptures shows a fascination with a variety of media.

instrumetalizing media...

I use a computer primary technology to explore relationships between sculpture, painting, music, sound, theater, dance, video, film, slides and written text..

How to understand relationships in complex systems.

How do materials reveal  process paradigns?

How does the use of materials shift from convention?

How does craftsmanship intersect with instrumentalizing?

What is the relationship between  working the tool and   playing the instrument?

Faux Fossils are today's objects placed in a distant future. These sculptures are faux minerals that filled the empty spaces between streets and alleyways.

What if today's objects were tomorrows fossils?

I finding it intriguing how nature allows materials to trade places.   Sedimentation dissolves one substance and replaces it with another.   I have always been fascinated with the sciences because of the attention it pays to "process".  This engagement with "process" is a strong motivation for my own methods in working with sculptural materials.

Dinosaur bones are embedded in rock beneath the earth.  With imaging technology that sends sound waves into the earth, fossils can be seen deep within the layers of rock. The sculptor Michaelangelo wrote about his ability to sense a figure within the stone he was about to carve.

Today I imagine those same dinosaur bones being buried and replaced with the plastics and synthetics of the 21st century.

A  true Hueretic method  would state that there is a process of exploration without the expectation of finding something specific.

Hueretics is the Eureka of finding some unknown thing.

Europa was an unknown "X" along side the reknown Jupitar.
