Primary Strategies October 19, 1998 (2nd MoMA visit) This lesson was titled by the students after viewing the works: The title "Primary Strategies" came while looking at a series of art work by Piet Mondrian. The direction we took began as we talked about "entry ways' into art works. From casual conversations in the classroom at MoMA we noticed the different ways in which people began to talk about the art works. Some people began describing the artwork in emotional terms, others spoke of body language, some noticed the physical materials, while others spoke of the activity.
